2023 Performer Application

THE APPLICATION PERIOD FOR THE 2023 CARRBORO MUSIC FESTIVAL HAS CLOSED.

Festival Dates
The primary date for the 2023 festival is Sunday, October 1st.  A kickoff show is scheduled for Saturday, September 30th.

Application Process
All performers must submit an official application to be considered for the event each year.

Attempts are made to strike a balance between our returning festival performers and first-timers. Please be aware that previous participation does not guarantee you a spot. We cannot accommodate everyone who applies to play.

Late applications cannot be accepted. Digital audio files or online samples (preferred) are required. Musicians are encouraged to bring merchandise to their performance and to solicit gratuities, however they are completely responsible for their sales.

A large percentage of the venues, both indoor and outdoor, have sound systems and sound technicians. The exceptions are a handful of small venues where the musicians run their own sound, either with their own sound systems or with those provided by the Festival.

Eligibility
The Carrboro Music Festival is a celebration of local musicians from the Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Orange County area of North Carolina.  The festival also includes performers from surrounding counties located between the Triangle and Triad regions of the state.

Performers who meet the criteria may apply for consideration to perform in the festival.

Compensation
Musical acts selected by the Music Festival Planning Committee to perform in the event will receive an honorarium in the amount of $250.

Acts who are selected to perform will be required to complete paperwork with the Town of Carrboro, including designating a group member to receive the payment.  This group member will be required to submit an up-to-date W-9 form.  

Applicants who are selected will be contacted by late August or early September when scheduling is typically finalized. Please be aware that spots in the event may be impacted by potential issues related to changes in available venues, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and other factors that may impact the event schedule.
