The National Weather Service has reported that dangerous heat is expected today as heat indices are forecast to range from 105 to around 110° across central NC!
This level of heat can affect anyone, so stay alert for signs of heat-related illnesses and take action immediately. See attached graphic for common signs for heat exhaustion and heat stroke! Heat stroke is an emergency and you should call 9-1-1 immediately.
Bottled water is available at Carrboro Fire Station 1 on W. Main Street and the Carrboro Police Department, 100 N. Greensboro St. Misting tents are in place at Town Commons, 301 W, Main St. Several local businesses are available for cooling centers. The Cybrary located at the Carrboro Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St., is also available as a cooling center during normal operating hours,.
