Valerie Macon

Valerie Macon lives in Fuquay Varina, NC. Her poetry currently appears in Kakalak 2018

(Main Street Rag), Visions (Visions International), Old Things (Old Mountain Press), Of Burgers and Barrooms (MSR), Winston Salem’s Poetry in Plain Sight (summer 2018), and isone of 40 essay writers selected from NC and Kentucky for inclusion in Bearing Up—Victory, Survival, and Calamity. She has four books of poetry: Shelf Life, Sleeping Rough (poems nominated for the Pushcart Prize), A String of Black Pearls, and The Shape of Today.
